"Tudo a Jesus por Maria, tudo a Maria para Jesus"

O Colégio Marista de Carcavelos participa na missão docente da Igreja Católica e faz do Evangelho e da vivência Marial, as fontes dinamizadoras da sua acção educativa e do seu apostolado.

A nossa missão é educar crianças e jovens, segundo a óptica do nosso fundador, S. Marcelino Champagnat, tornar Jesus Cristo conhecido e amado, formar «bons cristãos e virtuosos cidadãos».

É este o grande farol que ilumina e dirige toda a caminhada de uma Escola Marista, voltada para a Educação Integral e sólido Ensino de Qualidade. Orientamo-nos para uma pedagogia integrada em que fé, cultura e vida se harmonizam, segundo quatro linhas fundamentais:

1. O processo educativo Marista é iluminado pela Fé. Os educadores devem ser “apóstolos da juventude”, evangelizando pelo testemunho das suas vidas. A Virgem Santíssima Maria, carinhosamente chamada de Boa Mãe, é modelo de educadora, tal como o foi para o Santo fundador, pela disponibilidade, ternura e abnegação. A simplicidade, a humildade, a autenticidade, o amor ao trabalho, o espírito de família, valores que Maria viveu, sendo mãe de Jesus, são valores que os jovens Maristas devem viver com convicção e fé, por oposição ao individualismo, à prevalência do ter sobre o ser e do levar vantagem sobre tudo e todos.

2. A educação deverá conciliar a informação com a formação. Orientar o aluno para a descoberta e o incremento dos valores humanos, o respeito pela dignidade da pessoa humana e a educação dos valores afectivos, o companheirismo, a amizade, a solidariedade, o amor, a fidelidade, etc.

3. Na actividade educativa, o aluno é o principal protagonista da sua própria educação. É responsabilizado, como pessoa, para responder positivamente às influências do meio em que vive, proporcionando-lhe os meios necessários e adequados para a sua educação integral, em constante colaboração com a família.

4. A finalidade do nosso Projecto Educativo Marista é ajudar o aluno a integrar-se plenamente na sociedade.

The Marist School of Carcavelos participates in the educational mission of the Catholic Church and makes the Gospel and Mary’s life experience the dynamic sources of its educational action and apostleship.

Our mission is to educate children and teenagers according to the vision of our founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat, making Jesus Christ known and loved and upbringing «good Christians and virtuous citizens».

This is the great beacon that lightens and directs the way of a Marist school, aiming at global education and solid quality teaching. We promote a multidimensional pedagogy of faith, culture and life, based on four major guidelines: 

1. The Marist educational process is enlightened by Faith. The educators should be “apostles of the youth”, evangelising by their own life testimonies. The Saint Virgin Mary, lovingly called the Good Mother, is our model educator, just as she was for our saint founder, due to her availability, tenderness and abnegation. As the mother of Jesus, the values by which Mary lived, those of simplicity, humbleness, authenticity, dedication to work and family spirit, are the values that the Marist youngsters are invited to live by with conviction and faith, opposing to self-centred individualism and materialism. 

2. The Marist education conciliates information with formation. It orientates the pupil to the discovery and increment of human values, the respect of the human being and the education of affective values, companionship, friendship, solidarity, love, loyalty, etc. 

3. In the educational activity, the pupils are the main protagonists of their own education.  They are made responsible, as individuals, to answer positively to the influences of the environment they live in, thus given the necessary and adequate means to their global education, in constant collaboration with their families.  

4. The purpose of our Marist Educational Project is to help pupils to fully integrate in society.
